Tawny owls approve of barn owls boxes - outdoors and in!

Having nested for each of the three last years in a barn owl box placed in a tree, this year the resident tawny pair swopped barn owl boxes ... this time choosing the one built into the gable end of my house.

Tawny owls breed early in the year. These chicks are about to fledge (and did so on 28th April). Theywould have hatched from eggs laid in late February/early March.
